Entering Data for One Variable

To create a variable, choose {Data > New} Blank Variable. Data Desk puts the icon of the new variable in the frontmost relation window and opens it to show an editing window. The new blank variable has as many cases as are in its relation, but each case is blank. If there is no open relation window, Data Desk creates a new relation that has no cases, names it Data, puts its icon in the Data folder in the File Cabinet and puts the new variable’s icon in that relation. To enter data, type values one row at a time, ending each row by pressing the Enter or Return key.
